Standing Stone Supports Seven Years of Steady Growth at SIUH

In 1998, our “Coumadin Clinic” was established with 38 patients from a Performance Improvement Project aiming to decrease the number of complications related to the administration of warfarin. Coumacare was utilized as our initial software, but by 2002 it was no longer able to support our expanding volume. We reviewed our software options and called Standing Stone.  They promptly responded and were both professional and personable. They made us comfortable discussing computer technology, a subject Nurse Practitioners know little about. They discussed CoagClinic on a level we could understand. We selected this flexible and comprehensive product and have been more than satisfied since.

As our volume increased, CoagClinic has relieved our fear of complications by reducing the time and effort involved in the necessary strict monitoring of patients receiving anticoagulation. From the beginning of our relationship, we have been empowered to adapt the software to our population. Any suggestions or needs we have are always addressed and implemented when possible. We are able to provide appropriate warfarin and LMWH dosing, track hospitalizations and compliance, produce quality, volume and event reports, manage patient, physician and office lists and schedules, identify interacting medications, store readily available documentation, develop mailing lists and customize reports and parameters as necessary. Webinar’s are provided for us and are valuable to assure each staff member is up to date with all aspects of the software. Any information regarding anticoagulation is available for the asking.
  
Today, our “Anticoagulation Center” is servicing 2,600 active patients.  Over our seven year relationship with Standing Stone we have used CoagClinic to monitor over 7,000 patients. The staff at Standing Stone is our “one stop shopping”, providing us with prompt problem solving, excellent and responsive support, training services, educational references, continuous product development, resources and system interfacings.  They too have grown over the years but continue to exceed our customer expectation and treat us as if we were their only customer.
